Deze witruggier was aanwezig tijdens een roofvogelshow op het Biesbosch Streekfeest 2011 in Made (Noord-Brabant) op 2 oktober 2011.
De witruggier (Gyps africanus), soms ook wel de Afrikaanse witruggier genoemd, is een roofvogel uit de familie van de sperwerachtigen (Accipitridae). Een volwassen witruggier is van kop tot staart gemeten ongeveer 1 meter groot. De vleugelspanwijdte bedraagt circa 2,20 meter en zijn gewicht kan variëren van 4 tot 7 kilo.

This White-backed Vulture was present during a raptor show at the Biesbosch Regional Festival 2011 in the Dutch Village of Made on October 2, 2011.
The White-backed Vulture is a typical vulture, with only down feathers on the head and neck, very broad wings and short tail feathers. It has a white neck ruff. The adult’s whitish back contrasts with the otherwise dark plumage. Juveniles are largely dark. This is a medium-sized vulture; its body mass is 4.2 to 7.2 kilograms (9.3–16 lb), it is 78 to 98 cm (31 to 39 in) long and has a 1.96 to 2.25 m (6 to 7 ft) wingspan.
