Yarumo blanco / White Cecropia (Moraceae)

            Esta foto va dedicada a todos los antioqueños que regresan a su tierra por el aeropuerto José María Córdova. Se siente esa emoción de regresar a casa cuando se vuela sobre zonas boscosas donde sobresalen las copas de los yarumos blancos, tan típicos de nuestras tierras frías.
Los yarumos dan en toda clase de climas, pero los de hoja blanca sólo crecen por encima de 2.000 metros sobre el nivel del mar.
These white cecropias grow only above 2.000 meters above sea level, although green cecropias grow down to sea level. When Antioquians arrive to the Jose María Córdova Airport in Rionegro, one of the prettiest thing is to see the white cecropias all over the place as one aproaches the airport.
