Old Hong Kong - junction of Nathan Road / Jordan Road - the Manor of 黃棠記

Once belonged to the [ 黃棠記 ] family who run timber business and made a lot of money, the building never has an attractive appearance even stood right at the corner of this busy road junction.

Built in 1917 and facing Jordan Road with a small garden as the front yard; in the early 70s some tropical trees (looked like palm) were seen growing on this yard. Its existence was a great contrast to the neighborhood commercial buildings.

Construction of the MTR Jordan Station sacrificed this manor. The same place has become the Yue Wah Emporium still trading at present.

Anyone out there has pictures on this building which has become oblivious for decades ?
