London Underground tube map - 1912

            An already familiar design - the geographical version showing the pre-WW1 system against a skeleton outline. Various now-closed stations are shown - and the dotted line from Bank to Liverpool Street shows the extension that would open later that year - Liverpool St remained the terminus of the line until 1946.

One interesting graphic device is the vertical version of the "Big U - Big D" lettering - this design was found for many years on the exterior of stations.
