Plod Hill 104 - a photo on Flickriver

Plod Hill 104

            Seen arriving at Burrs Country Park on the East Lancashire Railway on one of the hottest days of the year so far. The tower above the train is called Peel Tower and was Built in 1852 this well known Bury landmark was erected in tribute to one of Bury's most famous sons, Sir Robert Peel; founder of the Police force and Prime Minister 1841-1846. The tower stands 128ft high and offers stunning views over Manchester and North Wales.
