The flesh is white to yellow, very sweet and juicy.
Sugarloaf pineapple is too tender for shipping.

The Sugarloaf' pineapple is much appreciated in Central and South America, Puerto Rico, Cuba and the Philippines.

A mature Pineapple is ready to start the ripening process and thereby change its skin color to pale yellow. 

The Pineapple can be seen with its Crown and a Ratoon.
In reality, this is the infrutescence, or the edible inflorescense.
