De Centrale Hemweg is een elektriciteitscentrale in de Nederlandse stad Amsterdam. Het huidige complex bestaat uit twee eenheden, een gasgestookte en een kolengestookte, die samen een netto elektrisch vermogen van ongeveer 1200 MWe (megawatt elektrisch vermogen) kunnen leveren.

Het centralecomplex is eigendom van het Nederlandse energiebedrijf Nuon, en omvat de twee eenheden Hemweg 7 (gasgestookt, aardgas, maximaal effectief elektrisch vermogen 599 MW) en Hemweg 8 (kolengestookt, poederkool, maximaal effectief elektrisch vermogen 630 MW).

In principe draait Hemweg 8 volcontinu, terwijl Hemweg 7 alleen wordt ingezet wanneer er extra vraag is naar elektriciteit. Daarbij kan Hemweg 7 indien nodig binnen 15 minuten worden opgestart. Nuon bereidt een vervanging van Hemweg 7 door een nieuwe gasgestookte STEG-centrale voor.[2] Deze Hemweg 9 zal door Siemens (turnkey) gebouwd worden. Deze zogenaamde singleshaft eenheid zal ca. 435 Mw moeten gaan leveren. Verwachting is dat deze eind 2012 operationeel wordt. Hierna zal Hemweg 7 gedeeltelijk gesloopt worden en zal alleen de gasturbine in gebruik blijven voor piekload operatie
