The Last Few Miles

            After setting out over 100 cars at Neff Yard across town, UP automotive train AASFX 11 out of the Alton and Southern in East St. Louis slow rolls the final miles of its trip down the Omaha Main on its way to Quindaro Yard in Fairfax, KS, against the backdrop of Kansas City's skyline. Grass residing in the state of Kansas makes up the foreground of this image, though the lead locomotive is still on Missouri soil. After serving somewhat unfaithfully during the railroad's recent power crunch, UP's fleet of reactivated SD90MACs is currently being placed back into storage. With fewer than 20 active members of the class, the days for UP 3545 to roam freely are likely numbered.
