Taming an Elephant

            Elephants are a vital part of temple ceremonies. This elephant is born to a domestic elephant and is getting near to his adulthood. As part of taming the elephant, the mahouts are giving the elephant a spa treatment. This is after the daily routine of teaching obedience and etiquette on how to behave in the presence of the supreme beings on earth. 

Entire part of life is spent in captivity and chained to a pillar or tree with only one purpose.

Elephant is used as a symbol to show the abundance of energy the human mind is capable of tapping to. Presence of elephant gives a majestic feeling to the ceremonies. Elephant symbolizes many good characteristics such as patience, strength, confidence etc. On top of all it is implicitly emphasized that controlling/taming an elephant is easier than controlling/taming ones own mind. Once the mind is tamed it can be leveraged to tap more energy from the universal source, hence becoming more powerful than any force in the universe.
