THE INCREDIBLE SHRINKING IRON MAN - IRONBARK

            "LET'S FACE IT, APPRECIATING BURLESQUE IS NOT THE WORST THING YOU'VE CAUGHT ME DOING..."

We were down in Tyabb, Victoria, doing a spot of antiquing, when I spotted this beaut burl on a tree next to a car park. 

The powerfully dimensional shapes and patterns in the bark reminded me of something that Maestro comic book artist, Jack Kirby, would've drawn (or indeed, collaged from photographs!) for Marvel, or D.C, back in the day. 

It lacked only for a splash of extravagant colour, which I was only to pleased to provide, with my travelling Tiny Tony Iron Man figure.

Funny, now I look at it again, the whole structure looks like Iron Man is going for a ride on the head of Thor's old adversary, Jörmungandr, the Midgard Serpent!
