Rattlesnake Shake - a photo on Flickriver

Rattlesnake Shake

            As Kevan & I were driving along a road to somewhere in the middle of nowhere, I spotted this guy on the edge of the road; and Kevan turned us around so we could "escort" him off the road before somebody ran over him..... of course, we took advantage of some photo ops with this 4-1/2 to 5 ft critter before Kevan used a tripod to herd him back into the swamp.

( ... As a side note, our act of kindness was rewarded by a dead battery leaving us stranded South of Alligator Alley around Big Cypress Swamp...  
After two days of hiking with sightings of panthers and bear and the elusive Skunkape, we finally made it back to civilization  !  
Ok, so maybe it was only after a couple of hours, 4 phone calls to AAA and the towing company 
along with a trip in the wrong direction to Marco Island to find a store still open on a Sunday 
evening with the needed battery... still.... 
Where was the Flickr help squad ... Tom ? Heather ? anyone !!?? .....    lol )

Lucky for the snake that Kevan got him back into the swamp before we found out the van
wouldn't start... otherwise the snake might have been dinner while we waited !!

AAA  customer service sucked....  wrote down the wrong road we were on, wrote down a different vehicle than we were in... and the "supervisor" got an earful later that night but 
refused to believe that 3 customer service people got the road and vehicle wrong.
Like Kevan said:  "PULL the tapes of the calls... check with the tow truck driver, and he'll tell you.."

The tow truck driver was very courteous, helpful, and even "escorted" us to Marco Island to a Wal-Mart there ( just as they were closing the service center ).

I'll double check, but I think it was Bald Eagle Towing.   If you're stuck in Southwest Florida, I would recommend them !
