Amelia Earhart's Lockheed Vega - a photo on Flickriver

            This bright red Lockheed Vega played a large role in the movie, "Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian" and was shown on display on the first floor of the National Air and Space Museum. In reality, it is displayed on the second floor. Amelia Earhart flew this airplane on two history-making flights in 1932: the first solo flight by a woman across the Atlantic Ocean and the first solo flight by a woman across the United States.
