DGJ_8401 - Last Views of the Sambro Island Lighthouse

The last view of the Sambro Island Lighthouse as I head back to the wharf at Sambro. I do hope that the Canadian Government decides that this is a treasure that HAS to be preserved for generations to come. That being said it has to be made more accessible for tours etc. to generate the money required to keep it in good condition. Many small communities like Sambro just do not have the funds to support places like this and so many lighthouses will be lost as the Canadian Government declares them surplus.

I know I have presented many shots of this lighthouse but this is not a place that you can visit very often, this trip happens once a year, weather permitting. Last year I had tried to go to the island but the weather would not allow it, this year was great.
