Forbidden City … Caged - a photo on Flickriver

I just returned from one of my dream travel destinations – Beijing. For the longest time, I wanted to walk through the Forbidden City and finally got to do it. The morning was misty and magical, just as I had imagined it would be. I completely lost myself as I wandered through the ancient walls which housed Emperors for over five centuries. This shot was taken towards the early afternoon with the mist lifting up a bit. I saw this window create a perfect frame for my take on the Forbidden City – through a cage-like frame.
