The Long Corridor is a covered walkway in the Summer Palace in Beijing. First erected in the middle of the 18th century, it is famous for its length (728 meters) in conjunction with its rich painted decoration (more than 14,000 paintings). The only day I could visit this was a Sunday, which wasn't such a great idea. It was so crowded that there was barely any elbow room. As I was shooting this, I kept getting pushed in the front along with the crowd. I wanted to capture its never-ending feeling and couldn't do it with so many people around. So again, I went back to one of the best photo tips - "look up"! Check out the whole set - Fascinating China. Beijing, China 2008 Arjun Purkayastha • travel & fine art photography •
