Tarde gris cominezos de Abril en Madrid, mi mujer y mis hijos querían salir y yo hacer fotos... la semana anterior había estado en la Pedriza, y me quede con ganas de volver... era un día ideal para hacer fotos con luz uniforme. Así que filtro en mano... a por largas exposiciones. La verdad es que el Parque de la cuenca alta de Manzanares, tiene una inmensidad de preciosos parajes. Aquí va uno.

El Manzanares es un río de la Comunidad de Madrid, afluente por la derecha del Jarama, que, a su vez, es tributario del Tajo. Este río, nace en la Sierra de Guadarrama, en el Ventisquero de la Condesa (la ladera meridional de la Cuerda Larga, cerca de la Bola del Mundo), y pasa por Madrid. Desemboca en el término municipal de Rivas-Vaciamadrid, después de un recorrido de 92 km.
El río acoge diferentes ecosistemas y atraviesa zonas de gran valor medioambiental, que han recibido diferentes niveles de protección. Su cuenca alta, desde su nacimiento hasta el Monte de El Pardo (incluyendo La Pedriza), constituye el Parque Regional de la Cuenca Alta del Manzanares, con una superficie de 52.796 hectáreas.

This time I would like to dedicate this picture to my friend, César, i invite to view your photostream.

A grey afternoon in early April, my wife and kids wanted to go out and I wanted to take photos. The previous week I had been in La Pedriza and I wanted to go back there. The day was ideal to make shots with a uniform light, so equipped with filters I went for long exposure takes. The truth is that the Parque de la Cuenca Alta del Manzanares is a vast extension of beautiful landscapes. Here is one of them.

The Manzanares is a river in the Madrid autonomous community, a tributary of the Jarama river which is turn is a tributary of the Tagus. This river has its source in the Nevacerrada Hills, in La Condesa glacier (the southern side of the Cuerda Larga, near Bola del Mundo) and flows through Madrid. It eventually empties in the municipality of Rivas-Vaciamadrid and has a trajectory of 92 km.
The river's basin runs trhough different ecosystems and areas of environmental value which are now protected. THe upper basin of the river from its source until the El Pardo Mountain (including La Pedriza) forms the Parque Regional de la Cuenca Alta del Manzanares with an extension of 52.796 hectares.
