3D Nightwatch on Hoth - a photo on Flickriver

A night out with the wampas. What could possibly be more frightening than a lonely nightwatch shift on Hoth?

Well, the answer is, of course, a 3D nightwatch for more realistic view of the horror. I've heard that 3D is "in" these days...

This is my first stereograph image ever. I think it works quite well, for a first, and with my usual equipment (the Canon 400). I'll have to look into this technique a little closer. Oh, and it was the first night frost of the upcoming winter last weekend, so, there's my inspiration for snow photography again.

For those who may not be familiar with a stereograph image: the trick is to look at this image from a distance of, say, 20 centimetres, and try to look at the images cross-eyed so that the images slide on top of each other and form a single 3D image. The effect may work best on black screen. After a little practice, I found out that I can focus on the image at a really close distance for one quite cool no-frills 3D effect. :D
