Remembering Franklin - a photo on Flickriver

            Canadian searchers recently found one of the 170-year lost ships of the Franklin expedition to find the Northwest Passage. This reminded me of a window I saw in 2010. 

Lady Jane Franklin donated this stained glass window to the people of Rupert's Land (Canada) to thank them for searching (albeit unsuccessfully) for her husband. The window was made in England and sent to Rupert's Land protected in a large vat of molasses.  It was part of York Factory for several decades and when the HBC left, the window was installed in St. Paul's Anglican Church in Churchill, Manitoba.
