Crane has in many places been seen as an important issue and the signs of spring in ancient times, it was claimed that the crane trumpet spring was a signal to farmers to start plowing the fields.
In northern Europe, the crane has been seen as the bearer of light spring. And the Nordic countries, there are many traditions surrounding the crane arrival, among other things, it is no longer lit candles at night and in some places, it meant that after this wouldhave an extra meal between dinner and supper.
In many places it is celebrated in the spring crane day, overpriced called the light day.

The cranes day occurred at different times in different places in ancient Sweden, from March 15 to March 25 ..
In some places, it was considered important to chase the children, and in some cases servant, early to bed this Crane-day while some other place, instead it was a day of celebration for the children
Somehow they dressed up as a crane and played special games and other traditions was to write Crane-letters to each other as they did in secret.

In southern Sweden celebrated Crane day remains March 25 of each year, when the kids get so-called crane- candy.

Today Crane dance at Lake Hornborga in southern Sweden, is the great show that draws thousands of people who want to watch the beautiful spectacle.
The cranes are counted daily from March 1 to the end of April, and in recent years has been the cranes at Lake Hornborga increased in number, now they're up there in about 20 ooo most.
Sometimes there are same quantity people as Cranes at the lake, even if people are prevented by fences to disturb the birds by getting too close.

I´m absolutely not a bird photographer, even I love to watch them. 
This is an old photo, with 300 lens. not very good lens.
