Constantine the Great, Yorkshire Museum, York (Eboracum)

            Emperor Constantius Chlorus died in York in AD 306. His son Constantine was proclaimed Augustus by the Army in Eboracum. A marble statue of Constantine was probably erected in the principia to celebrate his link with the city.
