Prima di partire per il Portogallo ho guardato qualche video sui luoghi più belli visitati da varie trasmissioni televisive e sono rimasta colpita da questo, che sembra il paese delle favole, un arcobaleno, la California.. Spalmato lungo una sottilissima striscia di terra, con le sue due file di abitazioni (tipicamente chiamate "palheiros" ) e l'ampio viale adornato da palme, guarda una laguna da un lato e l'Atlantico dall'altro.
Purtroppo il tempo non mi ha assistita ed ho trovato la giornata più piovosa della vacanza! Peccato.. Mi sono comunque goduta i mille colori di questo surreale paese posto di fronte all'oceano, meta prediletta di surfisti ed amanti del mare ondoso, che deve i suoi colori ai pescatori che anticamente lo abitavano e che gli vollero infondere un po' dell'allegria delle loro tipiche barche da pesca, le "moliceiros"! Un'atmosfera incredibile, soprattutto di fronte a quell'oceano che, poco dietro i palheiros, infonde stupore e quiete interiore..
