Soul at Peace || Alma en Paz (Pura Ulun Danu Bratan, Bedugul. Bali)

Travel and landscape photography is certainly loaded with the ambition to capture unforgettable moments in dreamy places. Often, when planning a trip there are places that we imagine to photograph in the best light conditions. We hope to achieve something extraordinary and build in our mind an illusion of those dreamed photographs.
But most of the time we have to face the harsh reality, the one that reminds us that we are not always going to get exactly what we want. In those moments when the dream picture is not in front of us, we are still lucky enough to be in incredible places and controlling our emotions and making the right decisions, we can get unrepeatable photographs. As in so many other times in life, when we give our best and we have enough patience and tranquility, we get great results.
On this occasion, I could not photograph Pura Ulun Danu Bratan with the incredible light of dawn and with his reflection in the lake waters as I expected. The haze over the mountains and the strong wind appeared as my enemies, but instead of giving up, I decided to use a long exposure to make them allies and transmit the calm and peace that the temple of the goddess of water emitted.

La fotografía de viaje y paisaje está sin duda cargada de la ambición de capturar momentos inolvidables en lugares de ensueño. A menudo, cuando planeamos un viaje hay lugares que imaginamos fotografiar en las mejores condiciones de luz. Esperamos conseguir algo extraordinario y construimos en nuestra mente una ilusión de esas fotografías soñadas. 
Pero la mayoría de las veces tenemos que hacer frente a la cruda realidad, esa que nos recuerda que no siempre vamos a conseguir exactamente lo que deseamos. En esos momentos en los que la fotografía soñada no está frente a nosotros, todavía tenemos la suerte de encontrarnos en lugares increíbles y controlando nuestras emociones y tomando las decisiones adecuadas, podemos conseguir fotografías irrepetibles. Como en tantas otras ocasiones en la vida, cuando se da lo mejor de uno mismo y se tiene la tranquilidad y la paciencia suficientes, se consiguen grandes resultados.
En esta ocasión, no pude fotografiar el Pura Ulun Danu Bratan con la luz increíble del amanecer y con su reflejo en las aguas del lago como esperaba. La neblina que había sobre las montañas y el fuerte viento se presentaron como mis enemigos, pero en lugar de rendirme, decidí utilizar una larga exposición para convertirlos en aliados y transmitir la calma y la paz que el templo de la diosa del agua emitía.
