An Orchid's Enticing Symmetry - a photo on Flickriver

This close up image of an Orchid was taken for my uni assignment on macro flowers.
The only way I could get an overall focus (due to limited depth of field) was to focus stack the image. To do this I took a series of shots from a stationary position, with my lens set to manual. Using live view to focus in on the sections I wanted to keep in detail. I took 28 images in raw format and then used the Automated Photomerge and Auto blend layers within Photoshop to construct the final image.
