Highway 299, California, USA - a photo on Flickriver

            Despite the beauty of the landscape, I lived to dearly regret picking this road!  It had more curves than there are stars in the sky, and there never was one single inch of it that was straight where you could relax for a moment.  On top of that, there were packs of road bullies in BMWs and sporty cars that would come up behind me and harass me.  There was absolutely no place to pull over.  I was so stressed out from this drive that my hands went numb from gripping the wheel so tight!  Even though I had just driven 3000 miles from Florida, nothing had prepared me for this last high-intensity, white-knuckle, almost-3-hour rollercoaster ride!  It was definitely the toughest, scariest drive of the whole trip.

This picture I took from what I think was the only viewpoint, near the end of that highway.  I pulled in there to get away from a truck pulling a horse-trailer that was riding on my bumper and driving me crazy!  I don't know what the poor horses were going through in their trailer.

If you just got a new Porsche, you might like this road.  Or if you have someone else doing the driving so you can look at the scenery.  Otherwise, I advise thinking twice about driving it!  :)
