The wait - a photo on Flickriver

The wait

            Perched upon a pylon overlooking  the bay in Port Gamble, this bald eagle scans the waters below and waits patiently for the last meal of the day to swim by. The days fading light is no match for the eagles vision, as it has 5 times more light-sensitive cells per square millimeter of retina than a human being.
