Château d'Echandens - a photo on Flickriver

            Le parc et le château de mon village au printemps. 
Dominant fièrement son vignoble au sud, il cache derrière un rideau d'arbres une façade où s'ouvrent de grandes fenêtres gothiques à meneaux et une longue terrasse ombragée.

C'est sur les ruines d'une forteresse féodale - qui appartint au Chapitre de Lausanne - que l'édifice actuel (remanié aux XVIIe et XVIIIe siècles) fut construit, dès 1554, par Ferdinand de Loys, seigneur de Denens, bourgeois et bourgmestre de Lausanne. L'inauguration eut lieu en 1629.
