The Blue Room - a photo on Flickriver

The Blue Room

            The first wet cave in northern Kauai, Hawaii. There is a spot just to the right of the photo the locals call the "blue room". You swim under the water and then pop up in a small air pocket. The light reflecting through the water makes everything blue. Unfortunately the water was too low when we were there, the overhang you can see in the picture is normally what you'd be swimming under. It did however let us access the areas further back in the cave. There's a smaller tunnel at the back that went about 200 feet as far as I could see.

The long exposure on this did a great job of bringing out the blue in the water. When we were in the cave you couldn't really see it.

3 exposures +2/-2 with camera sitting on a rock. Didn't like how the HDR came out on the rocks so I masked in the correctly exposed rocks in PS.
