Copyright © 2007 John Powell. All Rights Reserved. View On Black Another Place No visit to Liverpool is complete if you don’t go and see the work of Antony Gormley (Angel of The North). Situated along 3 kilometers of beach at Crosby, South Sefton. Secured on three-metre-high foundation piles, the sculptures are solid cast iron, made from the mould of the artist's own body. Your experience of the work will depend on the state of the tide, the weather conditions and the time of day you visit. Another Place harnesses the ebb and flow of the tide to explore man’s relationship with nature. Here time is tested by tide and by the elements, and the prevalence of sky seems to question the earth’s substance. My only hope is that the few images I took, whilst there, do the artists work justice? Taken one before before sunset, with a low-tide. Sigma 30mm f1.4, Grey Grad, Tungsten W/B
