Wilde_Karde
Die Karden sind zweijährige, kräftige krautige Pflanzen, die kahl oder behaart sind. Die Stängel sind aufrecht, verzweigt und stachelig. Häufig sind auch die Mittelrippen an der Blattunterseite stachelig. Die Blätter sind gegenständig, am Grund sind sie häufig verbunden. Die Blätter sind ganz oder zerteilt.

Der kopfige Blütenstand ähnelt dem der Korbblütler. Er ist eine eiförmige bis zylindrische Ähre, und steht an einer langen Blütenstandsachse. Die Involucralblätter sind gleich lang wie oder länger als die Tragblätter der Einzelblüten. Es gibt zwei Reihen von Hüllblättern. Am Köpfchenboden stehen stechende Spreublätter. Der Außenkelch ist sehr klein und kaum gezähnt. Der Kelch ist vierkantig, ganzrandig oder gezähnt, trägt keine Borsten. Die Krone ist ungleichmäßig vierzipfelig. Randständige Blüten sind keine Strahlenblüten. Von den vier Staubblättern sind zwei fertil. Die Narbe sitzt seitlich.

Die Früchte sind nussartige, rippig-furchige Schließfrüchte mit vier Kanten.

Dipsacus fullonum, syn. Dipsacus sylvestris,

is a species of flowering plant known by the common names
Fuller's teasel and wild teasel.

It is native to Eurasia and North Africa, but it is known in the Americas, southern Africa, Australia and New Zealand as an introduced species and often a noxious weed. The inflorescence is a cylindrical array of lavender flowers which dries to a cone of spine-tipped hard bracts. It may be 10 centimeters long. D. fullonum is the wild form of Fuller's teasel; the cultivated form is generally recognised as a distinct species under the name Dipsacus sativus.
