Stóra Dímun - View to Lítla Dímun - Faroe Islands

This photo was taken on a trip from Tórshavn to Stóra Dímun on 1 August 2010 with the schooner Norðlýsið. I have only been there once. Beautiful green island. 8 people live there. Their ancestors settled here in 1807. People have been living on the islands for more than 1000 years. The families website: www.storadimun.fo/

Stóra Dímun is one of the smallest of the 18 islands in the Faroe Islands and one of the southernmost, it is located between two other small islands: Lítla Dímun, which is not inhabited and Skúvoy. It is also near Suðuroy, the southernmost island and Sandoy. I live in Suðuroy, and every time I go to the capital Tórshavn, I pass by Stóra Dímun.
