Lal baba

He is the most famous among foreigners in Banaras. His image is in many website, and several stream on Flickr. He is very kind and welcoming to everyone, speaks very good english. When I first met him in 99, he was starting spanish, he is absolutly fluent now. Amazing. He lives with a Bengali family who has settled a restaurant and a guest house. Nitay, the owner, told me thanks to his guru advice, he became prosperous. Before meeting his Baba Ji, he was a simple cook with very low salary. Lal Baba, as he likes to be called, spend his days here and there around the main ghat. He likes to arrange people meeting, so he would always tell me when one of his french friend is around and do all effort for a meeting. Most of the time I run away… and he gives me one of his sweet laught. He is really sweet and charming.
