It was fun being in high school in the 80s

            High school flashback (in response to photo uploaded by Niki where I look like a mutant spider claw maneater.). :) Kevin and I doubled with Niki and Drew.

Niki and I were Seniors and wanted to do something totally different for this dance. So instead of waiting to be asked to go by one of the guys in our own class, we decided to invite these two super cute punkers two classes below us. They were in our computer science class. They had crazy mohawks (this was back in the early 80s and mohawks were pretty radical for our little town.) and were super cute surfer boys.

The guys cut their mohawks before the dance (why??). Despite lack of hair height we went out and had such a good time. There was dining at McDonalds (both me and Nik had fur jackets thanks to someone in her family -- thanks Boughtons!) (complete with real place settings that we brought from home) and pre-dance drinks at the base of some Morro Bay water towers (living large!) and then heading to the dance which was in a building on the pier in Cayucos. There was dancing, there was taking a break to walk the pier, repeat repeat, repeat.

Ah to be a young galavanting high schooler in the 80s. It was fun.
