Skull & Bones Cake Inspired by Tim Burton's Corpse Bride

Devil's Food Chocolate layers with Banana Buttercream, covered with fondant with fondant decorations. More in the BLOG ENTRY.

This cake is for Metal Niece's birthday and was inspired by Tim Burton's Corpse Bride, which I'm taking her to see as part of her birthday gift. We had these plans for months, so I knew that I'd use Corpse Bride as guide for her cake. I went to see it on opening night and was delighted to see a 3-tier skull and bones wedding cake in the movie!! Since this is a birthday cake, I thought it would be better to take some of the elements from the movie and then create my own design.
