It was love at first sight. Venice and its Carnevale touched us in our hearts. Why was that? A friend of ours organized an exhibition on "Carnevale di Venezia". His colorful pictures impressed us a lot.

After several visits to Venice and its Carnevale we are more enthusiastic than ever before. The wonderful masks and colorful costumes can not be more beautiful than in the background of Venice. Venice with its palaces and canals, with its picturesque bridges and beautiful houses.

What moved us most was the new friendships and contacts that were made during this time at the Carnevale. Among many of these fantastic masks were just such people. Warmhearted, lovable and friendly. The masks were thrilled for us and we for them, because some wanted to have our photos and we were happy when they posed for us in a beautiful place.

Then business cards were exchanged and many friendly gestures, especially with the eyes behind the masks. A unique experience that keeps touching our hearts.

It's the only time in the year when I feel like a portrait photographer and yet it's somehow different. I love to take pictures of nature, but I love so much to take pictures of these beautiful masks and costumes, made with so much love. A feeling that will not let me go.
Venice and the Carnevale was the first love on my flickr fotostream. Unfortunately my wife and I can not go to Venice in 2018. Because it was my "first love", from time to time I will present a picture for you. I hope to give you a little pleasure. I would love to share my joy with you my friends.

Dear friends, I thank you all for the affection and support for my "little work of love". I am very touched by the kind comments you write to me and the sympathy that I feel. My heart is full of joy over so many dear friends, whom I could get to know here. I wish you all the Best from my heart and love for the coming time and for the new year.
