            Dodd was one of the partners in Downtown Video, an oasis in the VCR revolution of the 1980's.  It was on the east side of the square, after moving from Austin Street.. He later served as a Denton City Councilman. Downtown Video (later Joe Dodd Video) was the only place in town - at that time - to have a really good foreign film selection in VHS.  The place had very interesting signage inside.  
     Joe Dodd authored a book of poetry and photos called "Never Kiss a Censor's Ass, They'll Always Turn Another Cheek."Cheek."   I remember him as a quiet rebel, but very firm in his views.  Leslie Couture and I co-authored this entry, and I'm grateful to her for correcting an error of mine.  In the background you can see North Locust and the Headlee Building.  Note the sign that says Decatur and McKinney.  Those are the county seats of adjoining counties, Wise and Collin Counties, respectively.
