Sobrevolando el misterio - a photo on Flickriver

El Candelabro, Paracas, Ica, Perú.
Este geoglifo es, de lejos, el símbolo del enigma sin respuesta en el Perú. Ubicado en la bahía de Pisco, cerca a la Reserva Nacional de Paracas, es a menudo considerado como uno de los sitios arqueológicos más misteriosos de América del Sur. A menudo llamado el Candelabro de los Andes, debido a su parecido con un candelabro de tres ramas, fue hecho realizando incisiones en la ladera de una colina, y con la evidente intencíon de que pueda ser visto desde lejos (con buena visibilidad de ve desde el mar hasta desde 20 kilómetros de distancia) Mide aproximadamente 181 metros de largo, y se le atribuye a la Cultura Paracas, creyéndose que fue elaborado cerca del primer milenio AC. La imagen fue construida excavando trincheras de hasta un metro de profundidad a través de la arena endurecida superficie de la ladera.
