Color quechua

            Bajo el sol del Cuzco, celebración del Inti Raymi en la estapa realizada en Sacsayhuaman. Sacsayhuaman, el Cuzco, Perú.
La parte mas importante de la ceremonia se realiza en la explanada de esta imponente fortaleza. Comienza  con el sonido de los pututos y las quepas. El sinchi, acompañado por cuatro oficiales de su guardia, se acerca al usnu, plataforma ceremonial, y revisa que todo este en orden. Tras una indicacion suya, ingresan al escenario el ejército y comitivas procedentes de los cuatro puntos del imperio. Un chasqui anuncia con el toque de su pututo que el inca esta a punto de llegar. Cuando lo hace, es recibido por el sinchi y su guardia. El gobernante se dirige al usnu, desde donde observa a su pueblo y al ejercito. Luego, escucha los informes de los jefes de cada suyo y el willaq umu da inicio al rito de la chicha de jora. El inca brinda hacia el Sol; luego, vierte otro vaso en una canaleta que conduce la bebida al Templo del Sol. Finalmente, repite el brindis. El rito del fuego sagrado comienza cuando el willaq umu enciende el fuego, mientras el willka nina kamayoq, encargado de mantener el fuego sagrado, prende la hoguera central de la explanada y los chasquis hacen lo mismo con las de los suyos. Es el turno del sacrificio de la llama. El tarpuntay, sacerdote encargado del oráculo, pide que suban una llama tierna y negra al usnu. Antes del sacrificio, el sumo sacerdote se dirige al Sol. Con un tumi, cuchillo de sacrificios, se abre el costado izquierdo del animal para arrancarle las visceras. Luego, las ofrenda al Sol y pide que haga lo mismo el kallparikuq, quien lee la fuerza del animal sacrificado; el wirapirikuq, que predice con la grasa del animal, y el yawarpirikuq, que adivina el porvenir con la sangre del mismo. Tras la evidente satisfaccion, el wirapirikuq echa las visceras a la hoguera central. Al ver el humo, el willaq umu se satisface por los buenos augurios. El inca se muestra satisfecho y la fiesta termina con una manifestación de algarabia.
