Catalan fisherman - a photo on Flickriver

Catalan fisherman

            In "el port de la Sevla", Catalonia, this fisherman was working on the docks, repairing his nets. I shot this picture with a teleobjective, but I think that he saw me :).

I shot this picture during a sailing trip in Catalonia.

I post-processed the picture to give it an old and vintage feeling. I used the darktable software, as usual. The two major operations that I performed were sharpening the edges and modifying the colors. To sharpen the edges, I used a equalizer filter with the clarity preset. I added an extra local contrast filter on the face, to stress even more the lines. With regards to the colors, I used split toning, pushing the shadows to red and the highlights to yellow. Finally, I used a exposure filter to lighten up the top left corner, to add a bit of light to the picture.
