Natural Art Forms - Leaf Me Alone N8881e

            When I saw the unfolding leaves and tried to shoot a few close up's, I can’t help thinking of the great German photographer Karl Blossfeldt.

He is the photographer who really defined the close relationship between artistic forms and nature (especially in plants) in his book “Natural Art Forms”.

His approach is emotionally distanced or so called “New Objectivity” and the plants are taken out of the context while shooting in studio with well-controlled lighting.

My shot is taken in the front yard of my neighbor on a cloudy day and with more causal composition. It is more causal and of subjectivity if compared to Blossfeldt’s approach. However I must admit that my inspiration was coming from his pictures.
