Second Street, Reynolds, Indiana, close-up section 1

c1910 postcard view of Second Street in Reynolds, Indiana. Several residents, including a group of boys in coats and ties, were out on the sidewalks for this photograph. No explanation was offered to explain their presence for the photograph.

The photographer was clearly facing east and was standing in or near the Kenton Street intersection when this photograph was taken. The building at the left was on the northeast corner and advertised implements manufactured by IHC (International Harvester) and JOHN DEERE as well as STUDEBAKER BUGGIES AND WAGONS. The smaller sign below the JOHN DEERE sign advertised ROCK ISLAND PLOWS. Farther east, a wooden enclosure for a gasoline pump stood in front of the two-story brick building. That building appears to be the same building that stood just east of the alley until just a few years ago. That building was the K. of P. (Knights of Pythias) Building. A little farther east, the railroad crossing sign identified the location of the Monon Railroad crossing.

A single buggy was in the street across from the K. of P. Building. East of that buggy on the south side of the street, a RESTAURANT sign hung over the sidewalk. No other business signs were readable.
