Natural Bridges is an enigmatic location for me. I've know other photographers who have spent many days here trying to get the quintessential 'Natural Bridges' shot.

I am now of the opinion there is no one defining shot here. Based on weather, tides, number of people running in front of your shot, you can always expect to get something a little different each time.

I live so close to this beach, I knew going into this fall, I would be coming here often. I'm still learning the tides, and I plan on coming here at least once or twice this coming week when the tides are lower in hopes of getting a closer shot with more of a reflection in the sand.

This particular evening, I took what was given to me and looked to capture some nice wave action. I like to keep my shutter speeds in the between 1/5 to 1/1.3 seconds in order to capture some detail in the waves without turning them into mush. This is the only shot I captured with some really nice curls. Whereas painters choose which brush to use, we photographers get shutter speeds instead.
