York Castle: Clifford's Tower Interior

Only surviving Norman Late Angevin remains of York Castle apart from sections of the city walls. Photograph shows the remains of the interior of the tower. The interior was completely gutted by a mysterios explosion in 1684, destroying all the interior work of the master carpenter, Simon of Northampton, who also worked on Windsor Castle,
