Marie, Jan '73

            An early spontaneous B&W portrait – it was interesting how different she looked in each photo I took of her.

This wide-angle from-above view was very unusual for a portrait at that time but has since become quite standard, now the typical "selfie" perspective.

I remember that her black knitted wool top, with tight jeans, made quite an impact on my friends when she came to met me in the student bar – they were still talking about it weeks later...

Tech. notes: taken on Ilford HP5 developed in Patterson Acuspecial, an edge-enhancing developer which produced wonderfully crisp images with a kind of sparkley texture. 
Olympus OM1, Zuiko 24mm F2.8 lens.
