Segovia - a photo on Flickriver

Segovia

            Segovia es una ciudad histórica al noroeste de Madrid en la región de Castilla y León de España central. Sus siglos de asentamiento dieron como resultado un abundante legado arquitectónico, que incluye murallas medievales, iglesias romanescas, un antiguo palacio real y una catedral gótica. El icónico acueducto romano antiguo tiene más de 160 arcos, la mayoría en granito de junta seca, y se alza sobre la Plaza Azoguejo en el centro de la ciudad.
El nombre de Segovia es de origen celtíbero, aunque no se tiene constancia del nombre de la ciudad hasta que Tito Livio la nombra como una mansio cerca de Cauca.
