MN State Capitol (2017)

            The second-largest marbled-domed building in the world, after St. Peter's Basilica in Rome, is the Minnesota State Capitol building in St. Paul. This Cass Gilbert-designed (the innovator of the skyscraper) masterpiece was completed in 1905, and rennovated during a lengthy process which completed in 2017 at the cost of over $270 million. One of the most inconic features of the building is the 23k-guilded quadriga entitled Progress of the State (French & Potter, 1906).
