Trachyderes succintus, Linné 1758 - a photo on Flickriver

            35 mm, commun du Costa Rica à l'Argentine et aux Antilles; la larve se développe surtout dans le goyavier. L'adulte se trouve sur les fruits mûrs, les cannes à sucre suintantes, les fleurs de palmier. Capturé, l'adulte émet une odeur désagréable censée éloigner le prédateur.
