20130221 Hyderabad - Bijapur

            On our way from Hyderabad to Bijapur, a tea stop at a small road restaurant. The walls were lovingly painted in pleasing colors, and even the simple little niche in the wall was offset with a painted decorative border.

Many walls in India have such little niches, often (but not necessarily) next to the door. Although it looks like they may be intended for placing a little god or goddess statuette, actual uses vary widely. This one (in spite of the decorative border) seemed to have no purpose at all, except maybe to please the eye.
