Starlite Motel est.1958

            In my quest to discover all things Silver Lake, I have been searching Ebay for any old scraps of information about the community.  Once in a great while an old post card pops up with some old buildings no longer in existence, such as the Starlite Motel, which was located at 250 S. Silver Lake Boulevard, "located along the Hollywood Freeway at the Silver Lake Boulevard exit (in those days they were still describing Silver Lake as one word, i.e. Silverlake). 

The post card went on to describe the motel's offerings, "Minutes from Everywhere, Modern four story motel with glass enclosed heated pool, sound-proofed rooms, restaurant, T.V., Hi-Fi, Telephones in every room".

The property is currently the home of Hotel Silver Lake Los Angeles, located at 250 Silver Lake Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90004, a member of the Quality Inn family.  Please do not use this image in any media without my permission. © All rights reserved.
