            Laughlin Park is an exclusive gated community located in the Los Feliz district of Los Angeles, rated by Los Angeles Magazine as one of the "top five" neighborhoods in the city.  Established in 1905, Laughlin Park was a preferred address for Hollywood elite during the silent screen era, including W.C. Fields, Charlie Chaplin and Cecil B. DeMille. Celebrities and the well-to-do are still drawn to the neighborhood with its quiet seclusion and peaceful tree shaded streets.  As is typical of Los Feliz in general, homes in the Laughlin Park community run the gamut in architectural styles.  

The Durkin House, is characteristic of the Spanish Revival style, designed for Joseph L Durkin, the president of a finance company and his wife Mary E. Durkin in 1928.  Located at 1977 DeMille Drive. Please do not use this image in any media without my permission. © All rights reserved.
