Abu Dhabi's Grand Mosque, from the inside

            A panorama, HDR image of the inside of the amazingly ornate and decorated Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

$500 million, world's largest chandelier and world's largest rug (and apparently world's smallest minbar, look at how tiny that thing is!).

This is by far the most amazing mosque I've ever step foot in, but I am not completely sure how supportive I am of the insane amounts of decoration. The 99 Names of Allah inscribed in the wall and lit up, the seven chandeliers hanging above and the array of lights that take up 40% of Abu Dhabi's electrical grid*... it makes me all wonder, is this a mosque, or something else?

Either way, it's a fun place to visit once in a while, but I'd never be able to pray here regularly.

this is the last Sheikh Zayed photo I'll post up for now. I have maybe 10 to 15 more, but I'll wait 'til later. I am so falling behind on my photos. I have three more countries to post!
